What stage should my startup be in to apply for Startup Singam support?

Startup Singam supports startups from the idea stage (including students and professionals) up to those with a working prototype.

Is it necessary for my startup to be registered to apply for Startup Singam?

Yes, it is a requirement for your startup to be registered. This ensures that your business is legally recognized and allows us to provide appropriate support. If you haven't registered your startup yet, we recommend doing so before applying.

What types of business does Startup Singam support?

Startups can get support from Startup Singam if they are in the idea stage or have a prototype. They should belong to one of these areas: Hardware (like robotics or manufacturing), SaaS/Tech (like fintech or agritech), or B2C/D2C brands. Their product must be original, owned or licensed by them, and show something new or better than others.

How will startups be selected in the Startup Singam program?

Startups will be selected for the Startup Singam program if they fall within one of these areas: Hardware (Deeptech, Robotics, Manufacturing), SaaS/Technology (Fintech, Agritech, Mobility), B2C/D2C Brands, or Idea-stage startups (college students or working professionals).

How are applications reviewed and categorized?

All applications are categorized into two primary groups: Startups and SMEs. This allows for tailored evaluation criteria and ensures both groups receive attention. Insights such as industry distribution, growth stage, and other metrics are analyzed using the application dashboard. The findings are shared with stakeholders to align on strategic priorities.

How are investors and angel networks onboarded?

Institutional and angel investors are key to the program. Institutional investors contribute to the investment corpus, while angel investors explore opportunities independently. Portfolios are prepared for investors, and orientation sessions are held. To onboard, please apply here (Provide link).

What is the initial screening process?

The initial screening focuses on narrowing down the pool of applicants across both categories. Analysts and associates from various venture capital firms and incubators evaluate applications using predefined criteria such as innovation, market opportunity, traction, and team strength. A scoring system is employed, and review meetings help finalize a shortlist of candidates.

How is production planning handled?

Production planning for the program is carried out alongside the screening process. A dedicated production team is onboarded to prepare for the shoot schedule and content format. Sponsors are approached with tailored program proposals, and agreements are finalized to secure financial and promotional support for the initiative.

What is the PitchFest?

The PitchFest provides a platform for startups and SMEs to connect directly with investors. The selected participants are invited to pitch their business ideas and interact with lead and institutional investors. Event logistics, such as venue selection and scheduling, are finalized to ensure smooth execution. Feedback from investors is collected to refine the participant pool further.

How is the final selection and mentorship conducted?

The final cohort of startups and SMEs is selected based on their performance during the Pitch Fest and investor feedback. Each selected participant is helped to refine their pitches, prepare for production, and develop strategies for networking and growth. The finalized list is shared with stakeholders, including sponsors, investors, and the production team.

What is the timeline for the program?

The process follows a structured timeline, starting with application reviews and screening, moving to production and sponsorship planning, and culminating in the Beach PitchFest and program execution.

How is quality control and reporting ensured?

Progress is tracked through regular updates and review meetings to ensure transparency. Reports are shared with stakeholders to address challenges, highlight achievements, and align with program objectives. This ensures both startups and SMEs are effectively represented and supported throughout the process.

How will I know if I get Selected?

If your startup is selected for the Startup Singam program, you will be notified via email with further instructions. Additionally, members of the Startup Singam team may contact you directly if any further information or clarification is needed.

Is there any application fee?

No, there is no application fee required to submit the form.

Where will the shoot take place?

The location of the shoot will be shared with you closer to the scheduled date.
